About us

Lily Turner Smith

I started ballet classes in Suffolk at the age of 3 and loved it immediately. Over the years, I went on to take ballet exams, perform in shows and enjoying being part of friendly dance school. I knew as a child that I wanted to be a ballet teacher when I grew up and volunteered in my dance school from the age of 13. This is where the dream off one day having my own dance school started.
Fast forward to 2019, and I attended the Royal Academy of Dance in London studying a degree in Ballet Education. Within six months the pandemic hit, and I was back home doing theory and practical lectures over zoom (with my nosy cat making regular appearances to my tutors). Despite being unable to enter a dance studio for 15 months, I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Ballet Education in 2022.
Whilst at the RAD, I also acquired the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance enabling me to teach the RAD syllabi (Grades). As well as attaining my license to teach ‘ Silver Swans’ classes.
Now, back in Suffolk. I am putting my dream into practice by creating a welcoming professional dance school, teaching ballet to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. My approach and ethos is to make ballet inclusive and accessible to all, and this underpins everything I do with LTS School of Dance.
